Jelly babies were originally called 'Peace Babies' when they were launched by British sweet makers Bassett's in 1918, to commemorate the end of the First World War. They were renamed in the 1950's.

Drumstick Lollipops are said to have been invented by accident in the 1950's, when Trevor Matlow, the son of the Swizzels-Matlow's founders, was experimenting with a new machine and discovered you could mix two flavours when making a lollipop.

Smarties - it is estimated that 307 tubes of smarties are consumed in Britain per hour. 

KitKat - Japan produce the largest amount of KitKat flavours with more than 80 to choose from including soy, cucumber and vinegar. 

Liquorice Allsorts are said to have been invented in 1899 when a salesman accidentally dropped a tray of sampled and the client loved the mix of shapes and colours so much that they went into production. 

Cadbury Dairy Milk - 350 million Cadbury's dairy milk bars are made every year, which is almost one million bars a day. 

Largest Lollipop - The worlds largest lollipop was certified on June 25th 2002. It weighed 287.92 stone and was more than 15 feet tall.

Millons - Millions are actually Gluten free and suitable for vegetarians. 

Fry's Chocolate - Fry's produced the first bar of chocolate as we know it today in 1847 known as the 'chocolate delicious a manger'.
